Spatial Transcriptomics Expert (ref. CF/26/02)
IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated single-cell and Spatial Transcriptomics Expert (Research Technology Platform Expert) to support the daily operations of its Advanced Genomic Technologies platform. The platform provides IRB researchers with high-quality services for nucleic acid quality control, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows, and advanced single-cell and spatial transcriptomics technologies. Equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, the platform aims to empower scientific discovery by delivering reliable, high-quality genomic data and expert technical support.

This position represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to grow within the role, progressively taking on increased responsibilities and gaining hands-on experience with advanced genomic technologies and cutting-edge workflows.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Establish and optimize protocols for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics applications.
Design single-cell and spatial transcriptomics experiments in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Analize transcriptomics results for quality assessment and evaluation of experimental success.
Provide scientific, technical and methodological advice on single-cell and spatial transcriptomics applications.
Provide routine equipment maintenance and support other platform staff in daily operations.
Ensure good laboratory practices and contribute to general lab organization and administrative tasks.
YOU HAVE
University Degree in a relevant scientific field.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a Genomics Core Facility.
Solid experience working with single-cell and/or spatial transcriptomics applications.
Good IT knowledge (Windows/Office) and strong organizational skills.
Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset.
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
Experience with NGS workflows (DNA and RNA).
Hands-on experience with quality control methodologies.
Good knowledge of both spoken and written English.
