Research Assistant (ref. LAB/25/14)
IRB Barcelona is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support our research teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining experimental mice, preparing samples, and assisting with experiments in the Innate Immune Biology Research Group.
This position is financed by the project “Studying the metabolism and function of myeloid dendritic cells and neutrophils in distinct tissues in health and aging” from the European Research Council (ERC), Acronim: MyTissue. Grant Agreement: 101117470.

Key responsibilities
- Prepare tissue samples for flow cytometry analysis.
- Maintain experimental mice, including weaning and genotyping.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Record and analyze data accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Assist researchers with experiments and projects.
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
You have
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or equivalent experience.
- License to work with research mice (valid in Spain)
- Experience of two years in a laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly motivated and collaborative person.
- Willing to keep on learning.
- Ability to work independently in a demanding research environment.
You might also have
- Familiarity with cell culture techniques and flow cytometry.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with data analysis software.
