Purchasing Technician (ref. AD/24/10)
Created in 2005 by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and the University of Barcelona, IRB Barcelona is a Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence—a seal that was awarded in 2011.
The institute is devoted to conducting research of excellence in biomedicine and to transferring results to clinical practice, thus improving people’s quality of life, while simultaneously promoting the training of outstanding researchers, technology transfer, and public communication of science. Its 29 laboratories and seven core facilities address basic questions in biology and are orientated to diseases such as cancer, metastasis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and rare conditions.
IRB Barcelona is an international centre that hosts 500 members and 45 nationalities. It is located in the Barcelona Science Park. IRB Barcelona forms part of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the “Xarxa de Centres de Recerca de Catalunya” (CERCA).
Your Role & Our Team
IRB Barcelona is seeking a Purchasing Technician for the Finance and Purchasing Department.
The selected candidate will be incorporated to the Purchasing. Daily tasks will respond to internal demand (from laboratories and departments) as well as external demand (suppliers, transport and storage).
Key responsibilities
- Managing documentation related to the next generation funds.
- Updating next generation documents in the different platforms or databases (CoFFEE, MINERVA, SAP…).
- Sending next generation documentation to internal users and/or suppliers.
- Coordination and reporting with other departments to solve different Next Generation issues.
You have
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a similar position: Administrative support in Research Laboratories or Finance and Purchasing Department.
- Knowledge: Degree in International Business, Business Administration or similar
- Skills:
- Good command of English
- Advanced User of Microsoft Office package (Word and Excel).
You might also have
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a similar position: Administrative support in Research Laboratories or Finance and Purchasing Department (one of them desirable on a Pharmaceutical, Hospital or Biotechnology sector).
- Knowledge: Degree in International Business, Business Administration or similar
- Skills:
- Teamwork skills
- Good organisational, planning and multi-tasking capacities
- Results-oriented person
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Advanced SAP Business One user
